I'm contemplating going back to school (NYU to be exact) to finish up getting a B.F.A. degree. My intentions are partially career motivated but more than anything, I'd like to have the experience of attending a great university and achieving a bachelor's.

Has anyone graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and regretted it? Or, please share experiences. Thanks!

My oldest daughter got a BFA because she loved the subject. She then found a job teaching art at an international school. Later she managed a large photo studio. Now she is doing extremely well financially selling high-end video systems. So if finding work is a criteria, the BFA seems very sensible as well as satisfying.

I guess the only regret would be not being able to find a job, but the carreer is wonderful. Yet most people graduate for such and such degree and end up in other jobs.
But I live in not a very large city so my career has not a lot of job opportunities.

i'm in an analogous place. I graduated in late wintry climate with my degree and now i'm finding down the barrel of insane student loans and there are almost no opportunities for me in layout. I do stay in a small city, so in line with possibility a greater city could be greater effectual for me. One important issue is that whilst I did get a job in layout based on the actual shown fact that i replaced into going to college for it, i do no longer do something at my job that I discovered in school. I do experience that it replaced right into a waste. i'm at the instant working a job no longer in the sphere just to make money with the aid of fact it incredibly is the slow season for layout, so in simple terms yet another clarification why this degree is genuinely ineffective. i'm ever hopeful that sometime it incredibly is going to artwork out for me, yet unquestionably i could have been lots greater effectual off skipping the degree and in simple terms getting journey in something which will pay properly.
