Yes, or when you tell them how old you are and they say, you dont look that old.

Yes, that happened to me just this morning in a roundabout way. I still get carded for cigarettes and I'm 26! That makes me feel old and way too young at the same time, actually.

Yes, I think they are trying to tell you how old they are comfortable with you being. I'm 34 and I know that I don't look my age... I never have. I'm cursed with one of those faces that 'mature' people talk down to. I get called honey and sweetie a lot. Sometimes people base my capabilities and intellectual capacity on their perception of my age. Once they know me - it's fine. But until that happens... I get tired of: "Oh! Honey! I thought you were only in your early twenties!"
And men... well... sometimes I find that men only tell you what they THINK you want to hear. Their motivation is anyone's guess.

I don't think I act like a 12-year-old...
But I understand where they're coming from because I pretty much quit growing physically when I turned 12... hehe...
Looks and what's on the inside aren't always equal so......

I've always wondered about that. For my 35th birthday, someone told me that I don't look a day over 27. What does that mean? I just laughed because I thought it was so funny.
