Nothing is fail proof. But this may help increase the odds. #1 If you are wearing tight underwear, stop. #2 have intercourse on the day that she ovulates and the following day, use protection any other days. The male sperm swim faster than the female but die off quicker. If the egg has been released they will get there first # 3 Drink caffeine. Keep in mind that these only help to increase the odds, It does not mean that you will absolutely get a boy.

I asked the same question and got some good answers. Check it out. Those people that think the odds are a straight 50/50 are completely wrong. Even my doctor told me that. Depends on the woman's body and the man's sperm. It's never an equal 50/50. It's a very valid question.

The chart someone listed is a wive's tale. It doesn't prove anything. It's all about positioning and surprisingly enough certain diets are more hospitable to the X or Y chromosomes. Google "sex determination" and you might find some things. I read up on a few things, did 'em and I got what I wanted!

None of the low-tech swaying techniques really work. If you really want a boy you can try to go high-tech - there is something called Microsort and also IVF with PGD. I think Microsort separates boy and girl sperm, then dyes the desired sperm and inseminates it. I believe Microsort is about 89% effective for girls and 79% for boys.
IVF with PGD is IVF, then they gender-test the embryos and implant only the desired genders. Results are same as regular IVF.

By having sex as close to ovulation as possible. It worked for us. I have a 3 year old boy. Male sperm swim faster but die faster so you want them to get to the egg first and not have to wait around.

Ok, here's the deal... "boy" sperm swim faster but they do not live as long, therefore, having sex very close to ovulation increases your chances of having a boy. "Girl" sperm, swim slower, but they live longer... having sex earlier than ovulation increases your chances of having a girl. :)

There is a chart that tells you what you are more likely to have in what month depending on the mothers age and conception date...
