cleaning vaccum filters?

Question

what happens if you clean the vacuum filter with soap and water when your not suppose to?
is it badly damaged?
did it only once. i'll never do it again!!!
hope it's not permanently damaged?!

They'll probably be all right once they dry out. The main thing you have to watch with filters is that you don't wring them.

If there is damage, you should be able to get replacements at a good department store.
