Straight A's are great, but overall balance in life is of more benefit to most of us.
Are you enjoying life, or feeling overwhelmed?
It is definitely possible to do too much, and there are definite limits on what a sixth-grader should try to do. No more that 2-3 hours of studying per night, and not every night.
And seek a balance in your diet, rest and exercise. You'll know when you are on track--you'll feel pretty good most of the time.

Wow wait until you get out in the real world and find out what hard work and no sleep actually means...but yes if your only 12 obviously study and keep on work school stuff and if there is time then do sports or whatever else...but not to the point where you stay up late and study from coming home late from your sport and then wake up and can barely stay awake in school....

Well, you should do all of your school work before even thinking of other activities. If you have time to do other activities then make sure you don't choose too many so you still have time to hang out with friends and be you. You can spread yourself too thin and if you are feeling stressed out or your grades are slipping then cut back on the other stuff.

If you feel overburdened, then you probably are. Step back and think about what is MOST important to you....your grades in school should be number one....set aside enough time for that and see how much time you have left. Stop doing anything that is not VERY important...maybe you're in dance class but you don't really like it anymore...quit what doesn't matter and leave time only for what is really important.

yes. your body will signal you. that's when you start to feel bored or sleepy. but if you really enjoying doing what you're doing, and feels motivated, by all means continue. follow what your body feels like.
