Your employer isn't required to tell you anything about the under dealings going on in his business. It would have been nice of him, but it isn't required.

Find out if they will be keeping anyone, if they are not then well... you'll have to start searching for another job, or file for unemployment because you have a totally legitimate reason to do so. Sucks that you have to go through this but I feel your pain, the place I used to work was sold to another company, they kept all the employees but we all knew it was a matter of time before they shut the place down, fortunately I left, but sure enough it shut down a few months later.

Sorry. Time to file for unemployment and start looking for a new job, unless the new owner would like to retain you as an employee.
In an at will state, an employer can fire you for any or no reason at all.

Just because the boss sold the business does not mean you are out of a job. It means the boss is out of a job. More often than not, and especially immediately, a new boss won't want to make changes until they have been there a while.

Is the new owner keeping any of the employees? If not, i would go and file for unemployment, and start looking for another job.

? What are you asking? I assume the job your doing will be the same unless the new owner says different. But, with no data I doubt my answer means anything.
