May be the "bubble eye" ( http://www.bristol-aquarists.org.uk/goldfish/bubble/bubble.htm ) goldfish or one of several other fancy goldfish varieties that have similar features.

could be a gold fish. Or the bubble eyed fish. They're not normal, which is why i like them. =]

they are blackmoores.
usually they are black (or sometimes gold) with big bug eyes on either side of their head.

telescope eye goldfish

bubble eyed goldfish.

either one. telescopes have bulging eyes. bubble had punches underneith the eyes filled with liquid.

I always just called 'em "bug eyed goldfish".
I assume they're some kind of carp.

Sounds to me like you are describing Japanese "Koi" they are goldfish and they have protruding eyes.
