That totally depends on the individual. Sadly, there are still some very racist Americans who publicly announce it. However, I believe the vast majority of Americans are not racist at all or see others who are not white as "American." On an uplifting note, Americans tend to find foreign accents, specifically European accents, attractive. Also, I believe most Americans have a general curiosity of other cultures, and just want a better understanding of other cultures. It's the uneducated Americans that make other Americans look bad by acting superior to other cultures.

No! The US is a melting pot of all types. while racism still exists on all sides, I think that most people in the US are not racist. At the same time, I think that any person moving to a new country must learn how to integrate into American society. There is nothing wrong with keeping a certain amount of your own culture and traditions, but incorporate American culture and traditions into your life as well. Become a part of us, don't insist on being completely different.
In any society, as you become a part of that society, that society will accept the differences you have.

No, yanks think that way about anybody. It's the land of equal opportunity hypocrisy.
How quickly the US forgets that without the French blockading the English in the 18th century, the British would have beaten the seditious colonists (ie. the "war of independence") and still be owned by the English. Now the French are called "surrender monkeys".
And let's not forget the international court: When the US loses, they ignore the rulings. When they win, they want the decision enforced. This happens EVERY TIME without exception.

well i cant speak for everyone but at times it can be a us vs them, not because we want to do it. but that is what we have dealt with so long. A lot of people view themselves as american but still have respect for their cultures.

i dont think that it is anything like that. i think that there is a majority, but i know that myself and the people that i associate with dont feel that way. i do not have an issue with people having accents but i do have problems with people that do not speak english. this is an english speaking country period. i do not go to other countries and expect them to know my language. or get mad because they do not. anywho, that is the only issue i have with others.

Painting any demographic group as having a particular attitude or behavior is inherently racist and bound to be inaccurate. People from all demographic groups vary widely in their attitudes, education, experiences, and behaviors.
