When we realize we are in all in it together .That not one race religion or political body has the answer .But that sound judgment and rational decisions are need to improve life for all men . I doubt a heart surgeon would be happy as a ditch digger and a ditch digger would not enjoy heart surgery . We all have our own unique talents that need to be developed . Economically life favors those with the ability to educate themselves and therefore an end to money needs to come about . We all eat drink and reproduce more or less in the same manner just some of us feel we are better at it then others .

Why do they do it? Because they can. Most of them are young and this is the only place in the world they can say the things they want and not be punished. Who is going to hold them accountable on the internet? Their parents? Heck no, the computer makes a perfect babysitter and keeps the kids out of their parents hair. They can hide behind their computer monitors and pretend to be people that they are not. I would love it if Yahoo Answers would act more responsibly and find a way to to curtail all of the game playing. That isn't likely either. It appears they value quanity of posts over quality of posts.
I use to have alot of respect for young people in our society. I worked with several youth organizations to help promote issues that they found worthy in our community. I was a co-founder of an organization that worked directly with City officials to accomplish goals that were important to the young people in our community. We, THEY accomplished alot. That was then and this is now. I pray that none of them are the ones I see interacting here. Taking part in this forum has shown me a side of a high percentage of young adults that is both vile and destructive to society. Somewhere along the line showing respect has been lost. Spewing hatred and telling falsehoods to further their cause has become fashionable.
Why do I blame young people for this? Because in my lifetime I have met very few adults that behave in the way I see displayed here. Those adults who do behave like what we witness here are usually glued to a bar stool or too ignorant to find their way to a site like this.
Call me cynical but I am so tired of how young people conduct themselves on these message boards. The impressions they leave with foreigners are lasting impressions that affect all of us.
To answer your question... No, it is highly unlikely that you or anyone will ever be able to restore civility to politics, especially here. I continue to take part in this forum for one reason. To attempt to give a sense of balance to all the crap that gets posted here.
Lecture over.... *puts soapbox back in the corner*

With politics so too comes the lowest common denominator. No one likes to lose, no one likes to look like a fool and certainly no one likes to have their opinions challenged openly. Rational people discuss and debate and there is a fair amount of this which occurs on Yahoo Answers. Unfortunately sometimes you must wade through loads of crap to find it. The real answer to your question is no there is not, especially on the Internet. People are willing to say things anonymously that they would never say face to face.

Let's try! Can some of us agree to refrain from framing questions with, "Why do all....", can we agree to stop the diatribe(s)? Can we begin a discussion on Fallacies of Argument? I posed such a question here & received dismal responses. There is value in knowledge, for GOODNESS sake.
Some people seem to be uncomfortable with reality and revert to "fight/flight" mode. The truth can set one free, correct?
Open mind, insert facts.

Good point.
Its just a way for the bullies to beat up on people with whom don't agree with their opinions. I disagree with a lot of people, but I respond with an answer, not a report. That the point here, debate.
Its sad.

I'm doing my bit- I'm fair to both sides of an issue, and try to understand the other side even when I disagree. I find that leads to more intelligent, thoughtful conversation. If other people start to do the same, we've got it.

Yes, religious affiliations with politics should be unlawful as in banking. Back to business.
