There can be, but it's pretty simple, kind of kidstuff. That guy Mark that travels with the Gaithers is pretty straightforward. Have to be, with a religious singing group behind you.

I think sarcasm is the best form of comedy. To laugh at how ridiculous most things are in our lives is my definition of sanity.
Bill Cosby does not use sarcasm he is a story teller. Richard Pryor also was a storyteller. Not a lot of sarcasm but plenty of comedy.

Red Buttons comes to mind...But that is about it... and Bill Cosby is or can be sarcastic... maybe not directly, but some of his humor is based on that... especially when he talks about his wife and family. Who are we kidding?... I don't think so. A little sarcasm, irony, pain, and sadness is what keeps comedians in business. If no one suffered, what would they talk about? Look at Richard Pryor... a genuis. And one of the saddest people ever.

I think all comedians use a variety of ways to get people to laugh, and sarcasm it generally one of them.
You may want to look towards physical comedians like Bob Nelson, who do things to make you laugh, as opposed to saying things to make you laugh.
Otherwise, someone like Mitch Hedberg, who unfortunately passed away, had a unique technique that was light on sarcasm. But, you have to adjust to his style.

Rita Rudner does a very low key kind of humor that has little or no sarcasm, and when it does..it seems mainly aimed at herself.
