LOL too funny. You know, they learn most of thier stuff from you. Sometimes its hard to look into that little mirror spouting back your own BS at you. Especially when you could have SWORN they did not hear you. LOL
Its normal, sometimes you want to throw them out of the window because they frustrate you SO BAD but then you feel guilty for thinking such a thing for the next three weeks, especially when they interrupt your window fantasy by saying something so profound yet adorable that you call half the phone book to tell them what little Molly said.. LOL
Being a parent is the hardest job on earth, thats for sure.. LOL
I admit it, sometimes, I just want them to go visit grandma for a few YEARS and leave me alone, but then I change my mind. LOL

Anyone who says he (though it's usually a 'she' for some reason) loves his children all of the time, at every moment during the day is flat out lying to themselves...
Children can be difficult, especially when they are young, totally dependent on you and eat up whole blocks of your time non-stop.
Of course you love them! Just not all of the time.
And it's OKAY to admit that to yourself..it's OKAY to picture yourself running off to some place where children don't exist, and it's okay to accept your feelings. In fact, that's the only way to get through the day,at times...
Naturally, if you find yourself disliking your child more often than loving him/her..you should start looking for some help...sometimes just getting out and leaving a trusted babysitter in charge can help...sometimes you need more than that...
If you start having urges to slam the child upside the head...RUN to some trusted person ,we're talking counselor, religious advisor or doctor here...and let them know...
These are anger issues and may run more deeply than you know how to deal with.
It happens to many, many parents...but because we're supposed to be a 'child loving society' and it is somewhat taboo to say out loud that you can't stand your child today and would gladly trade him in for a twinkie, people swallow it and sometimes even deny these feelings to themselves..
And sometimes..a certain child will have characteristics and personality traits of someone you absolutely cannot stand..like a relative you don't get along with..what then? You remind yourself that your child is NOT that person..he is a unique little being and only acts like Uncle Fred occasionally...
And then there are days when you're just plain overwhelmed with everything, you have a headache that won't go away and you've lost your keys...believe it or not..and contrary to everything that seems to be going on..your child does NOT pick these days to act out and rub your fur the wrong way...
If he IS acting out..he's probably REacting to your black mood and scared , wondering how he caused it (children, of course, blame themselves for everything)
Don't take it out on your little child. Get some perspective...take several deep breaths..remind yourself that he's part of you and part of someone you love (USED to love?) and appreciate him.
Or remove yourself from the area for awhile...till you start feeling '
nice' again and can tolerate the normal childhood behaviour...
(yes, they ARE normal!)
Hard to believe sometimes..but there it is...children are going to get on your nerves, they are going to disappoint, they are going to drive you to distraction..but they are also going to love you unconditionally when no one else does, they are going to make you feel proud and worthwhile and they are going to make you smile...all the rest is temporary.
And, as someone else said...treat them nicely..they are the ones who will pick out your nursing home someday!

I love my kids more than life itself, but it has to be said there are times when, having put up with one of their 'moods', I just want to spend an hour banging my head against a brick wall. They're amazing little people, but sometimes they drive me crackers!

No, I've never and will never hate my child or find it difficult to love her. I get frustrated with her but she's my world. I'd die for my child. She's the cutest thing in the world.

I love my son - he's so cool and such a good kid. I have relatives though that have admitted that they couldn't stand her daughter before she was diagnosed with ADHD and medicated. That's so sad...

No, never. They may test my nerves from time to time and spend all of my money but I wouldn't trade them in for anything. I would lay down and die for mine.
