sometimes I do....I came out of the liquor store one day and this woman came up to me and said "I swear I'm not a crackhead, I just want a beer" lmao, so I gave her a beer, since she wasn't a crackhead I guess I thought she deserved one lol :)

Denver’s mayor started a campaign last year to really help the agencies who help the homeless: instead of giving money to panhandlers we are encourages to donate that money and more to the shelters agencies that help the homeless. He hopes that when people stop giving money directly to panhandlers, the panhandling will stop and the homeless will go to the shelters for their hand out.
Still, sometimes I am moved to compassion, and I give a dollar here and there while at a stoplight. My wife and I go out (especially this time of year) and take sandwiches and pop to people on the street. I once lived in my car, so I have lot of empathy for those stuck out in the cold (I was lucky: at least I had a beat up Subaru for shelter.)

sometimes I do, sometimes I offer food.
Once i was in the McDonald's drive through and the guy asked for money and I'm like "well I'll get you whatever you want here"
"but I really want KFC across the street"
at that point I could have said "eff you" but I was nice and still bought him some mcnuggets.

Sometimes because I think, "There but for the grace of God go I." Not much though - only change and I don't always do it. Then again I remind myself that I work 40-45 hours a week. =p

no i give to organizations that spread out help to people who deserve it, the people on the street need to get a life and and get a job, take a shower and brush their teeth
