Robots do not think. They are machines, and at best, computers. This means they are pre-programmed to be able to do certain things. If you ask them 1000 questions, and they have been programmed to know the answer to 999 of those questions, they last will either be a repeated answer, or no answer at all. The point of that little example is that humans (well most of us) have deductive reasoning skills, this means that we might not KNOW the exact answer, but we can use past experiences, or clues from similar topics to make a suggestion or partial answer.
Any "thinking" a robot does would simply be sorting through whatever info they have already been given, and spitting out the programmed answer.

good question though...it has made me think...

The maintenance for nuclear power plant, undersea petroleum plant and several facilities in space, and rescue operation in disasters will be typical tasks for which the robot with dexterity and intelligence is expected to be introduced. To satisfy the requirements, the researches on making the robot more dextrous and intelligent have been carried out. To have more dextrous robots, the robot with more complex mechanisms is researched, like multifingered robot hands, walking mechanisms and so on. Also, to make the robot more intelligent, several control technologies for the complex robot and artificial intelligence technologies have been proposed. In this paper, with the history of robotics research in mind, the efforts which have so far been made for more advanced robots are discussed

No. Robots lack the mind to make emotional thoughts or interpersonal communication, such as subconscious body language. Essentially, robots lack free will and the ability to feel what personal reactions that we humans have to the rest of the world.

Most robots operate on computers, so, the answer is no. You can program the computer (robot) to perform functions, but they cannot think on their own. The limitation is in the computer and it's program.

Artificial Intelligence hasn't made a program that thinks without human intervention yet, but it's close.
