An Internet "Troll" is someone who enters into a community with the intention to disrupt services, usually posting inflammatory remarks with the intention of provoking a reaction from others.
A "Troll" in the folklore sense (which is where you posted) is a Scandinavian monster or giant, often a biped, that have oversized ears and noses. They are common in games such as Dungeons & Dragons, World of Warcraft, and in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I second Nick W's answer.
There's also the troll dolls based on some of the mythology behind the creatures:
Trolls have been a part of folklore forever--as bad and mischievous creatures who lived in caves, in logs, and under bridges. Trolls are believed to be good luck, which certainly has helped the sale of troll dolls--troll dolls can be found in houses, in cars, even at work, purchased with the hope that they will bring luck to their owners

Big, bumbling oafs. Usually they aren't depicted as being very bright. In the three billy goats gruff, the troll does live under the bridge. In Harry Potter, trolls live in the mountains unless called to guard something (since they will smash anyone/anything in their path).

Trolls play extensive roles in various mythologies, espcially those of the scandinavian variety, where they generally represent elemental evil (but not always). From tolkein, they are large man eating creatures that turn to stone in daylight.
