when ONE PERSON here insults other people or nationalities, the Answerers respond as if that ONE PERSON is a spokesperson for his or her country? Specifically, when Chancer G insulted the British, why do you assume he speaks for all Americans? Don't insult all of us because of one of our brain-dead idiots (if he IS really, in fact, American).

Sorry, I meant to say "Please don't insult all of us because of one of our brain-dead idiots."
It is, after all, a request, not a demand.

And yes, I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but when that opinion is based on the skewed perspective of others, that opinion-holder will have a flawed premise as their standard. (Wow, did that just come out of me?)

People think that when a person insults another country or group of people that he speaks for all those people in his country like you said in your question, which is rather like when someone says i dont like "Americans" or British or "Hindus" etc I would really like to know how many people thay have met to make this judgement, maybe 200 hundred at tops yet they base this judgement on millions of people, see how small minded some people are even rationaly thinking people seem to have adopted this way of thinking too

I think it is because it is so easy to use generalizations. He insulted my nationality so I'll insult his, easier than refuting him. Usually, and here I will generalize, people who use this kind of attack are not very bright. They lash out at a grouping because 'they are not like us'. Then, the response is to attack the attacker for exactly the same reason. It is 2 sides of one coin.

I can't speak for them but I know I don't think the actions of one person represent a group of people or a country as a whole.

Yes, it is a very complicated matter and should never be taken personally. Some people are just complete wackos, I guess.

Amen brother. Sing the chorus. I hate when they just assume we're all jerks because one is.
