A hero is a person who is distinct in society but bends in it well. You never expect such a person to be a hero, he is a observer who studies but tries not to interfere in the problems of others unless he feels that someone is in danger.
He tries to comfort you emotionally and helps people wherever he can.
He doesn't think of himself and shares his stuff with others who don't have.
He is self-sacrificing considering the safety of others more important than himself and finds joy in the happiness of others.
He is also a person of good heart and wisdom beyond ones years whose soul desire is to help make the world a better place, and one who lives by the law of virtue and who has great compassion and empathy towards others.

From the Greek ἣρως, in mythology and folklore, a hero (male) or heroine (female) usually fulfills the definitions of what is considered good and noble in the originating culture. Heroes place the willingness to sacrifice the self for the greater good as the most important defining characteristic of a hero. However, in literature, particularly in tragedy, the hero may also have serious flaws which lead to a downfall, e.g. Hamlet. Such heroes are often called tragic heroes.

Sometimes a person might achieve a high enough status to become courageous in people's minds. This often leads to a rapid growth of myths around the person in question, often attributing him or her with extraordinary powers.

Some social commentators prescribe the need for heroes in times of social upheaval or national self-doubt, seeing a requirement for virtuous role models, especially for the young. Such myth-making may have worked better in the past: current trends may confuse heroes and their hero-worship with the cult of mere celebrity.-

To me a hero is a person who has made a difference in at least one persons life. Who has changed your life for the better with the things they did or said.
They do not have to be someone famous or have the ability to fly.
They just have to impact you in such a way that you look at them and know they are your hero

His qualities are- The wealthiest, the Strongest, the Wisest, the most renounced, the most famous, the most beautify. One must see that God is the Supreme Person with unlimited abilities. Well, the dictionary says a hero is a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities or a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal.

So, hero qualities would be someone who has done a brave deed, gone against their natural instinct for survival in order to save another's life. Here's a for-instance:

A mother who runs into a burning building to save her child is not a hero. Why? Because it is her natural instinct to do so, to save her child.

A firefighter who runs into a burning building to save a total stranger is a hero. Why? Because it goes against natural instinct to risk life and limb to save a stranger.

Also, a person who loves others when they have no biological reason to do so is a hero. To love when you have no biological or friendship reason to do so is a bold thing to do.

I think being a hero can be achieved by many ways. One is by sacrificing something dear to you for someone else, even if it isn't for your own benefit. A firefighter wouldn't really be a hero, because he/she does it for money.

No one is a real hero if they see themselves as a hero.

Heroism is not about be courageous or sacrificing things for others. It is when you be there to help when someone's desperate. You are a hero, if you've made a person feel happy when you're around them. It is when you're being trustworthy, when you're reliable. That's when are a real hero.

My definition of a hero is someone (or possibly something) who aids another in surviving an overwhelming or risky situation/event. This includes both external situations -- such as a natural disaster or a fire, and internal situations -- like depression or losing hope.

I think a hero can be someone who does something quite minor or something pretty major. It is someone who goes out of his or her way to make a difference, perhaps in a situation where nobody else cares. It doesn't have to be highly publicized.
