the war on terror. We cannot change the past. Why will people not focus on winning in Iraq and around the world? Do anti-war people want us to win? I really do not see that they do.

DO YOU WANT US TO WIN AND DEFEAT TERRORISM FOREVER?

WILL YOU DO WHAT IT TAKES TO DO SO? This includes allowing the government to spy on international calls.

I asked what I did because we cannot agree on the facts (how pathetic is that). We accomplish nothing by harping on the past. We need to deal with what we have now and move forward.

I know why we did what we did and we were 100% in the right for doing it.

Sadly I feel a lot of US citizens don't have the guts to do what it takes.

People whine that the government is taking our freedoms away, because their taping our phones. I just say if you don't have anything to hide then you shouldn't care if your phone is being taped and not all calls are even being listened to, since that would take a lot of man power. Only calls that key words are being said actually get listened to.

The other thing is this that the War on Terrorism is a tough war to fight, if we have uncooperative nations allowing terrorists into their countries.

And unfortunately terrorists are like dealing with crime bosses, they won't come to a summit and talk out an issue. They only know one way and that's kill or be killed.

So we need to cut off their funds, close down their camps and not allow them to have a foot hold any where to train new terrorists. That is the only way to effectively fight them and to hopefully someday win this war against people who are trying to hold the whole world captive.

But it's hard to get the world to cooperate even if it's against a common enemy. They like to claim the terrorists are only against the US people, but that's not true. There are many stories out there about terrorists striking other countries that weren't even supporting our efforts. Even other Muslim nations.

So the world needs to wake up and realize we all need to fight this fight together, with good intelligents and cooperation.

Hopefully someday it will be more like the cold war instead of Vietnam.

Our military has the might and ability to level Iraq in a week. What is happening is that they are not being allowed to win. The big war is to win the hearts and minds of the world to support our valiant efforts.

As far as "spy" tactics, I support any and all means to keep our country safe. Tap my phone, read my mail.. I have nothing to hide.

As to why they focus on the past, I think the answer is in mob mentality. Instead of trying to come up with new ideas or trying to find common ground, they jump on the Koolaid stands and shout "me too."

Do they want us to defeat terrorism? I would think so but only after their primary issue is resolved and that is that their political party is in power, whichever one that is. "The issue is not the issue, it's who's in charge."

Do what it takes? Yes I would. It reminds me of the sacrifices this country made to win WW2. Can you imagine anyone making those sacrifices today? Maybe the europeans are right. We have become soft and spoiled.

The whole point is that this administration is NOT winning the "war on terrorism". They have made it worse! They are doing the wrong things! Going into Iraq is a bloody, ill-conceived, badly manage debacle. Wake up! The level of terrorism world-wide has increased drastically. We haven't had an attack here in five years, under Clinton we went six.

I think you've missed the whole point. Iraq had ZERO to do with 911. It's gotten 3000 kids killed for NOTHING. So we should just overlook it? George was on the right track and doing what needed to be done until he (or draft dodger dick did) he decided to avenge Daddy). After a joke of a war he has created a zillion idiots that would be happy to blow them selves up to kill us. Winning, the clowns in the white house couldn't win crap.

You can't defeat terrorism forever anymore than you can prevent people from breaking into your house or robbing banks. Terrorism is a tactic used in warfare.
We seriously need to clearly identify the current enemy that is using this tactic and eliminate them. Are Americans willing to do what it takes to do so? I think they are.

Because there is leading evidence that the government can spy us , don't you think that means he could just about anything including start a war for no reason and tell everyone lies to cover it up . i agree that we want to stop terrorism but why could have spy on Assam Binladin and find out all his accomplices and got them , instead kill innocent people and ******* up their babies . I think alot of people are going to go over the war for years they already tried to make peace and we just keep blowing when we could track Assam bin ladin . SO REALLY I WOULD GORGE BUSH AUTHORITY. i think he is a mean prick.

Nobody is looking to change the past, but perhaps we could learn from it, and Bush doesn't seem to want to...not calling it a 'war', not calling it a 'civil war' not admitting that he got us somewhere we weren'tprepared for...ALL of these issues affect strategy. So I would ask 'do the reps want us to lose'? Because if you aren't willing to admit a small amount of failure, how can you adjust a strategy to win?

So your approach to a record of incompetence and failure is "Bygones! Move on!" --? Your cohorts won't move on from Chappquiddick and "Hanoi Jane"-- what's the purpose of rehashing that? But the War on Terror is still being fought, and it behooves us to take note of what we did wrong so we don't repeat it! Does that make sense?

Do you really think we can "defeat Terrorism Forever"? The War on Terror is like the War on Crime-- there will ALWAYS be crime.

You "WIN" a war on terrorism by promoting peace and unity world wide........ not killing a half million innocents to take out a government,,,,,,,,we have effectively lost the war by creating anti-American sentiment in the muslim world.......we were stupid to do this.......the best way to win is to make ammends to the people we have slaughtered for profits..... and admit our flaws,,,,,,,a little humility......
