Highly recommend it.
the only thing is no pill is better than the next....they all do the same thing just maybe a lil different from the other. some make your period come less each month, while others make you have it only several times a year! it really depends on what YOU NEED for your body to function normally with an increase of hormones
if your thinking of using birth control and will go see a doctor, you should do some research for yourself, so when you get to the doc, your comfortable with talking about it and you know which questions to ask regarding your body and some side effects.
the best thing you could do for yourself is to know what you want/need (doing this will help)

The easiest birth control and the one with the least amount of health risk is an IUD. People used to think a lot of stupid things about them but talk to your doctor about it. Alot has changed and it's good for ten years and it only takes about a 15 minute office visit to put in and you never have to worry again! I used it for 8 years then got my tubes tied. I love it!

Each of the different kinds of pills work differently for everyone. I think it would be best to talk to your doctor and you may need to try a few different brands before you find the one that works best for you.
