What!?!?! but i think i know what you mean... Inless there is another nurse in the room with him... But if it was just the doctor and you wife... I dont think thats right...

huh?? question didn't make sense....but do you mean is it common for a doctor to ask the partner of the pregnant women to leave the room while they do an exam? In a lot of clinics yes, but it should always be up to the pregnant women as to who she wants present with her. Same as asking for a nurse to join them if she and the doctor are alone. I think (or hope) that was the question you asked!

Soem doctors find it to be traditional or perhaps they think you're squeemish. Some guys are.
And also it's for the woman's privacy.
It's hard for me to say. My husband was never asked to leave. I always asked if he felt comfortable which he was and my doctor had no problems.
Perhaps ask your wife if she wants you to leave and if she says no they tell the doctor you find it best to stay unless he thinks you'll be in the way which you shouldn't be.

mine never did it when i was pregnant with both boys. with our first son we werent even married, with our second one we were married.
