I got my IPOD Nano for Christmas 2 days ago. I woke up this morning and went to listen to it and I pressed a song and it froze. It has been like that for like an hour. I NEED HELP.

P.S.-- It is really cold in my house, could that be why. Will it unfreeze if I heat it up?????

1. Check that your hold switch is off by sliding the switch away from the headphone jack.

2. Press and hold the following combination of buttons buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds to reset the iPod.

iPod 1G to 3G: "Menu" and "Play/Pause"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Menu" and "Select"
Shuffle: Turn it off, turn it on. Done.
If you have an iPod Mini or 4th gen iPod or higher, then you need to press the Menu and Select buttons, not the Menu and Play button, to restart. The Select button is the center button in the middle of the wheel. Upon reset, your will see the iPod name and the Apple logo. You may have to attach your power plug in your iPod to make this work. Your iPod should mount on your computer now. If not, keep reading.

3. The iPod name and the Apple logo will briefly appear upon a successful restart before advancing to the Main Menu.

To reset a Click Wheel iPod including iPod mini, iPod mini (2nd generation), iPod with Color Display (iPod photo) iPod (Click Wheel), iPod nano, and iPod (5th generation, iPod with video):

Connect your iPod to the iPod Power Adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet
Toggle the Hold switch on and off (slide it to Hold and then turn it off again)
Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears (about 6 to 10 seconds). You may need to repeat this step

If you are still unable to reset your iPod, use only one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Menu button.

hope this works for you.

Do a soft reset ... hold the middle button and press up simultaneous for 10 seconds ... it will reset and everything will be OK!

... if it really cold in your house ... like below 40 or something, which is really cold ... put it in your pocket to keep it warm ... you don't want to damage it already!!

i've got recently gotten an iPod, and that i've got found out that that's on occasion awkward to be listening to your iPod while doing specific issues. Like ordering lunch on the school cafeteria. Or paying for something on the shop. I in basic terms choose for to appreciate while or while to no longer pay attention on your iPod.

The best thing that you can do is as follows-
1. Try to relaunch your ipod on some other computer.
2. Try to turn it off.
3. Check if the hold button is on if yes then turn it off and it will work.

Well i think ur Ipod is just really cold, dont put it in the microwave to warm it up! Maybe it could be the battery. If it is to cold put it close to, not on, a heater or wrap a blanket around it.

in the book it has instructions on how to unfreeze it. i think that you have to slide the hold button over and then back, then hold down the middle button and i think the play button until it unfreezes. you might want to check the book and make sure those are the correct buttons.

Lucky! I wanted an ipod nano but never got one. Well with my mp4 player when it freezes I just turn it off. Charge it for about an hour then turn it on again.

Good luck!
