The apparent place that the water is coming through is under the dashboard and close to the door hinges and about a foot away from the floor, is there anyway someone could tell me some possibilities of where the leak is coming from?

If its water than its coming from your AC compressor (nothing wrong then) ditto for the defrost. If its got a red or green tint its the anti-freeze.

My 2000 Ford Focus does the same thing.

At first I thought it was clogged drains somewhere, so I checked the drains under the hood, then I checked the seal of the passenger side door. Both were fine.

Then I realized that it happened after I used the AC for an extended period of time. So that could be the problem with your car.

I'm not sure if there is a way to fix it, though--I haven't gotten mine fixed yet since 1) I don't often use the AC, and 2) it's december so I don't have to worry about it at the moment. ^_~

Good luck!

Does it have an odor? It could be the heater core leaking. You'll know soon enough if the car overheats. Check your antifreeze level. If it is down, that's probably where your antifreeze is going. Get a good mechanic to replace it. It won't be cheap, and it usually is a bear to do.

Good Luck,

i have a 98 mitsubishi eclipse. the day i got it it started raining HARD. later that day i noticed both back floor mats were SOAKED, i brought the car back and they showed me that in the hatch back, there are these 2 "plugs" that help with draining, they were completely clogged so the water was just running INTO the car instead of out, i just poked them out with a stick and problem solved. you should check under the hood. along the edge somewhere there might be some small holes, maybe 1/4in diameter or so. make sure they arent clogged. it might look like they have lots of pollen or dust clogging them.

thats my only suggestion.

If you have been using the heater and it is working fine, then I bet it's not the heater core. Could be it's just condensation from the ac unit, as the vent tube to the outside may be plugged and needs to be cleaned. If it smells like rotten water then it's best to take to a mechanic to repair the heater core problem.GOOD LUCK.

I think the leaking water is coming from your airconditioning unit, maybe your filter need to be replaced. Have it serviced by a qualified service maintenace. Hope this helps.
