There are tons of apartments in Las Vegas--and quite a few jobs. Get online and start sending out some resumes. While you are there interviewing, check out the apartments.
Good luck, and I envy you. I love Las Vegas (and I don't even gamble)

Use careerbuilder or monster to check out the job market if you don't have a position already. Also, check craigslist for info on jobs, housing, etc.
How much it will cost to relocate depends on what you're moving. If it's just you and some suitcases or a few boxes, you can probably just book a flight and head out. If you have a car, furniture and lots of personal items you'll have to sell up or spend thousands on shipping.

I would rent a truck if you have a lot of stuff to move, its the cheapest way to go. If you decide to go with a moving company (I work in the business) make sure to go with a major company. No reputable moving company will make you pay up front for your move and if they ask for prepayment I would walk away. Even putting the prepayment on your credit card is no guarantee that you will receive service. DO NOT PAY until your items are delivered... trust me on this one, there are a lot of shady people out there.

Rent a U-Haul truck, put all your stuff in it, and drive West.
