I just want to listen to songs on the internet, I don't want to download any programs or songs to my computer.

If you go to napster.com you can listen to songs up to 3x each, without downloading anything, and no supscription except you have to sign up which takes like a second, and if you want to hear songs more than three times you can just logout and sign up as a different user!

You could do a google search for online radio stations or go to this one (Live 365) with various styles of music. Just click on a genre.

Downloading songs fro ma p2p (Pirate Bay, Limewire) isn't unlawful. that's why that's called SHARING. the basically way you'll get in criminal worry is with the help of importing songs or with the help of performing copyright infringement. Downloading songs from various (get at the same time: Limewire) is the same as determining to purchase a clean CD and letting your chum borrow it to get the songs.
