Is there a site where I can track accumulative profits for all movies that have been released in theaters?

I have no idea if they actually become profitable, those movie flops. For instance, the other day on TV I was watching a show about movies of 2006...

Apparently... the one that did worst was Basic Instinct II... which apparenlty cost $70 Million to make, and only made $5 Million at the box office... Sort of makes you wonder how this movie will reconcile it's apparently huge losses...

I haven't really searched the internet for a place to track movie revenues etc... but I am sure that there's some site out there for that typa thing...

It certainly seems so. It recent years, movies that tanked at the box office seem to rely heavily on what they make on DVD.

Remember the awful movie Gigli? At the time, my brother worked at a video store. Among some of the useless trivia and statistics he and his co-workers kept, there was never a case where someone rented Gigli and did not demand their money back upon returning it.

If that's renting the movie, imagine what people thought after purchasing it.

It is probably because, in our supply-side world, DVD technology is so inexpensive to produce that you don't have to make many sales to turn a profit, and you almost can't help to generate some income through rental outlets. Even if something is horrid, there will be someone who will say 'This must be worth at least two dollars to rent!"
