My new bf and i are going to the movies today. i was wondering if Dreamgirls was a good movie to see with him or if we wouldnt like it.. BTW; we are 11/13. are we too young?

You are not too young to see the movie. I am glad it was done in a very tasteful way. You would have to be older and wiser to really know what was going on during that time period. I feel blessed because I "know" this history and it was told with some real truth - and yet just enough 'hollywood' to make the movie interesting enough to keep people awake. I guarantee you - there are other movies out there that told some of the Motown story that go deeper than this movie does. I loved it! I loved the character of Deena Jones (Jennifer Hudson) and the singing was supurb! I have never heard Beyonce' sing with this much passion. She is a good actress, but I think she needs more UMPH! The 'frilly" and "safe" characters are under her - the girl has some grit - and some moxie!

If you are both mature enough for a 2 hour PG-13 movie then it's fine. I saw it today and loved it!

You are not 2 young. It is a great movie, and you will love the constant music. My husband went with me, and he enjoyed it even though it wasn't an action filled flick. Have fun!

im 13 and i loved it. i went today and it was alot of singing and dancing. if you are the type of person who likes the singing and dancing type of movie, this is great for you. the movie was a little long and drawn out, but it was still great. i would suggest it.
