At 36, it really depends on your insurance company. You won't get gouged as much as the under-25 crowd, but if you haven't taken an MSF course (my insurance company REQUIRED it before they would insure me) or have a few tickets it could be higher than you like.
Just stay away from GEICO no matter what. They may be cheap, but when one of their customers hit me GEICO did not pay the claim. It was minor damage, but they care more about paying for caveman makeup and expensive CGI lizards than providing service, and you don't want to find out the hard way that GEICO will, without question, drop the ball when you need them.
Hear that, GEICO? You SUCK!
At 34, MSF course under my belt, riding sportbikes for almost 5 years with one no-fault accident and no other tickets, I pay $35/mo for full coverage, $500 deductible and $1,000 medical to cover any co-payments.

Check with some companies. Do look at roadside assistance. Worth the extra if you travel any distance. Nothing like a flat tire 500 miles from home to mess up a day.
I went with Progressive after an extensive search and many quotes from as many companies that sell bike insurance as I could find.

I pay 256.96 every 6 months on a 2002 Harley lowrider. My insurance is through state farm and i have pretty good driving record. I am 35 years old and live in knoxville,TN. The Lowrider has a 1450 cc engine. I have 50000/100000/50000 with a 500 dollar deductible and full coverage. Hope this gives you an idea of what it might cost you.

That depends on the state your in and the bike you own cruisers are cheaper that sport bikes. Age is also a issue. If you go to your local motorcycle shop they should be able to give you a rough idea. In NJ rider insurance has price lists at most bike shops.

Hopefully you have had your same insurance company, as this will make it much cheaper. I have got quotes from Progressive and Geico, and they were twice as much as my insurance. I also have been with the same company for 25 years!! State Farm if you would like to know a good company for their costs..

.I'm 40 and a new rider without the motorcycle safety course or any tickets and I pay $108.00 a year full coverage from Progressive on my 2002 Harley Sportster 883.
Call around for quotes.
