"A C-section delivery is performed when a vaginal birth is not possible or is not safe for the mother or child.
Surgery is usually done while the woman is awake but anesthetized from the chest to the legs by epidural or spinal anesthesia. An incision is made across the abdomen just above the pubic area. The uterus is opened, the amniotic fluid is drained, and the baby is delivered.
The baby's mouth and nose are cleared of fluids, and the umbilical cord is clamped and cut. The baby is handed to the pediatrician or nurse who will make sure that breathing is normal. The mother is awake and she can hear and see her baby.
Due to a variety of medical and social factors, C-sections have become fairly common -- about 26% of all births in the United States in 2002 were C-sections."

A c-section is also known as a Cesarean section. It's a surgical way of delivering a child. Your doctor operates to remove your child. It's very safe and your still awake when it is performed. Your partner is there with you just as if it was a natural birth. Your hospital stay is longer normally around three days ,sometimes a little longer. You'll have a surgical scar, and you'll be sore for a little while. Most doctors prefer a natural birth but if it's not possible a C-Section is what happens.

It's an abbreviation for Caesarian Section, which is a way of giving birth when, for whatever reason, the regular way isn't safe or practical. An incision is made and the baby is taken directly out. It was so named because one of the Caesars(rulers of Ancient Rome) was said to have been born this way.

A C-section is a surgical delivery of a baby. They make a cut in your abdomin and then a cut in your uterus to deliver the baby! I had my first in Sept. 2005 and my second will be May 2007. They are actually the safest form of delivery in the US (less women and babies die each year from c-section delivery than from vaginal births). Good Luck!!

Mostly they are saved for "last resort",usually if there are problems during pregnancy, you're Dr. will discuss this option with you,if he feels it is the best way, & then there are times "like in my case"there is emergancy's that arrive during child-birth,that it is medically nessery weather you planned for it or not.Anyway,a C-section is when they cut your stomache open & take the baby that way! And in most cases you are awake during the whole ordeal!!!"they numb you up" I hope this helped!

Its not actually the stomach that is cut open. The cut is made below the stomach the woman is just pregnant and it looks like they cut the stomach.
