This guy I work with was in the Navy and lived on a boat with a bunch of dudes for a long time. He is a complete homophopic and makes it a point to make sure every knows he is not gay. I think that something happened on the boat that made him question his sexuality, what do you guys think?

The only other person that was in the Navy that works with us is always staring at him and they have a special bond, again I think he may be gay, what do you think?

Yep, he's gay. The homophobic people are always the gayest ones.

I find that people who are overly anti gay are hiding the fact that they themselves are gay. It's a very high possibility that he could be, and he's just too afraid of what others will think and say. Just don't bother him about it. If you hear him proclaiming his straightness out of the blue. Just tell him alright it's enough, besides there is nothing wrong with being gay any way so shut up about it.

What, are you one of the Andrews Sisters waiting for the next fleet landing? With all the fantasizing you do, I hope your job doesn't get in your way. God forbid there should be a strange noise coming from your cubicle. The head set you wear can be heard by drivers at the pick up window.

No matter what it is nor where it may be, there is always someone trying to place a social label on someone who has no bearing in their life...I understand this is a forum where anyone can express anything they choose, and it's not like I haven't wondered about someone...then I wonder, "Why am I wondering?"

If this person is negatively affecting the work environment with his "I'm not gay!" banter (and if you are gay and it offends you), address this with your HR Manager.

I think it's his business whether he is gay or not. For whatever reason, he thinks he needs to make the point of not being gay.
Whatever. Don't waste your time thinking about him, just worry about your own life.

It really is his own business if he is gay or not.

But it is not unheard of that men have raped men while on ship. It seldom gets reported. If he has homophobic issues, it may be from something like that, who knows. It is for him to deal with.

Why do you want to know that? It´s not your business If he had or not a gay experience. If you are interested in him, just start as a friend...

It's possible, but there is no way to really tell without him telling you. From the sounds of it, he will not be telling anyone soon. Just be a friend to him and if you're lucky, he'll tell you in time if he was.

There is definitely some hang ups where his sexuality is concern. Maybe he's not ready to come out and afraid he might be found out!
