Should their be 10 catalytic convertors on each evry car?

Catalytic Convertors are one of the primary causes of global warming. Placing 10 of them in a car won't help anything.

Do you understand what a Catalytic converter does in a vehicle?

A catalytic converter is in the vehicle to "lower" the activation energy to allow for full combustion of hydrocarbons. Basically so your vehicle does not put out hydrocarbon (HC) pollutants into the air.

To do this it basically "finishes" the combustion process for the remaining HC by acting as a catalyst to finish the combustion process turning the remaining hydrocarbons into a by product of combustion of water and carbon dioxide. The catalyst still releases quite a bit of ENERGY that is trapped in the hydrocarbons. This trapped energy is basically converted into HEAT!

That is why a catalytic converter is SO HOT. So basically a catalytic converter is RELEASING excess energy in the form of HEAT into the atmosphere. It's also releasing the carbon dioxide gas from the result of combustion. The primary gas that is thought to trap the heat in our lower atmosphere. If anything a Catalytic Converter IS CONTRIBUTING TO GLOBAL WARMING!!!

NOT having catalytic converters on vehicles would actually reduce the amount of carbon dioxide gas released by our vehicles, but would release harmful hydrocarbon emissions (main cause of smog) and possibly carbon monoxide.

If you want to halt global warming, the only way to do this is to stop burning hydrocarbon fuels (This includes not using alcohols too because alcohols are basically hydrocarbons with an "OH" component".) By not putting the "carbon" component into the atmosphere is the only way to "halt" the global warming.

Our only solution to halt global warming are alternative energy sources. To name a few:
1. Wind
2. Solar
3. Hydro-electric
4. Nuclear

Anything that requires the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas) will release carbon dioxide into the air and will contribute to the process of global warming.

Other solutions are to remove the carbon dioxide out of the air.
1. Help our planet grow by placing creatures and plants that absorb or use the carbon dioxide. Such as more plant life which convert carbon dioxide into oxygen in the process of photo-synthesis. Or Coral Reefs which actually take the carbon dioxide that has absorbed into the oceans and converts it into calcium carbonate. By destroying our Coral Reefs we damage our oceans abilities to take carbon dioxide out of our atmosphere!

no. why add to cost for no extra benefit..... cars are not the biggest causes of global warming... coal plants and factory emissions and farm pollution cause most...cows emit a LOT of methane..
