Be sure to use the liquid rinse aid Jet Dry that goes into the door.

Add Vinegar to the wash.

What dishwasher detergent do you use? I Use Cascade only and have for 39 years and really do not ever have this problem.
We even have hard water. The key is Not to use cheap detergent. A few times I have tried to economize and this was not the way to do it.

You can try to soak them in Lime Away or The Works scale removal products but if they are already etched, you can only just buy new glasses.

I've been told that they become etched by using too much dishwashing detergent in the machine at one time. I've NEVER heard that the water being too hot will etch them (doesn't make sense to me.)

Generally using like a Jet dry will keep this from happening So once its already on there all I can suggest is running through the dishwasher again with jet dry this time.

Buy a rinse solution. This is usually blue liquid stuff, it goes into a small hole somewhere in your dishwasher. This will take off the stains and your glasses will sparkle every time you use your dishwasher.

There is a rinse agent that goes into the dispenser of your dishwasher that helps prevent these stains. There are several brands and they are located near the detergents in the market. It works for me.

Load them up again and put in 1 cup white vinegar.Just pour it in the bottom of dishwasher and cycle through. If they are really bad repeat.Vinegar will also get rid of stains and smells.

if they are what is referred to as ETCHED... then nothing will work for them.

if its just baked on detergent from the heat of the dishwasher -- then try washing them only in cascade from now on as well as using something like jetdry, etc in your dishwasher.

if the glasses are ETCHED -- my plumber told me that the hot water may be set too high.
