Everybody is more intelligent in different ways.
For example a computer expert, while wise in the ways of computers, might be a complete fool in marketing.
Then again, people who drink excessively are less smart than others, so drinking is a big cause of lack of intelligence. If you don't believe that, try taking an IQ test while you are hung over.

Because they know they are and they try to hold on to that integrity through discipline. Usually it is the smarter ones, if they're not cocky, they really do understand the principle of discipline. That's why some of them got smarter and smarter. Usually, we tend to take for granted that more experienced people are smarter than everyone else. In some case it is, but truly, intelligent people are borned and not made. That's the big differences. The true test of who is more intelligent is to have them take similar test and wait for the results.
From my own experinces, I have seen truly intelligent people who were able to learn the same job faster than what it takes the person with twenty years of experiences to. Part of the reason is that the more experinced people tend to be more arrogant and have too high a pride (I mean it gets in the way), where as the inexperienced but intelligent are cocky. It's a real shame. But the people that are far more intelligent are neither. That's why they tend to stand out as being more intelligent than any human being on earth. Good enough, yes?

The mind is a very complex structure that can expand to numerous understandings. When you consider intelligence, you also have to take into account the different intelligence people speak of and the knowledge they gain from other sources, including themselves. Genes probably is a factor behind most intelligence which gives them the ability to learn without studying twice or gain information with less mind energy.

I think it's all in the genetics. Though environment plays a significant role in forming our personalities. Having said that I also believe that some people are more adoptive than others and they can adjust themselves more readily. Though a more reliable reading can only be taken by a IQ test.

Excluding upbringing and education, intelligence is in the genes.
Just like some people are taller, etc. some people are born more intelligent then others.

People are smart in many different ways. I have met many "book smart" people who are dumb as a rock when it comes to common sense. I have met many "uneducated" people who are quite smart - and really gifted in certain areas and skills. So I believe it is hard to classify "smartness".
Some people are born wise just because of inherited personality traits - others become wise with age and experience. We learn from our mistakes and the mistakes of others. We learn from the tragedies in our lives. We learn from the wonderful things that happen in our lives. I truly believe that a "wise" person pays attention to everything that happens around them - and learns from it - and continues to learn from these experiences for the rest of their lives.

Some are just more analytical than others. I think that most people have some sort of skill or talent that they posses in a greater capacity than others.

It depends partly on a persons genes and partly on their environment.
Environment is important. If their parents show an interest in their learning; help them to learn; instill encouragement to learn; show approval and pride in them as they grow; they will learn more, try harder.
