I say that it could kind of depend on when you got. For example if you bought it around the time when it first came out, I recommend you don't leave it on too long on account of the heating issues they used to have. The newer if your 360 was made this year it should be safer. But yeah you shouldn't leave it on long anyway-they heat up faster than ps2/original xbox would because of the power. I mean look at the freakin' power supply--it's huge!

Your instruction manual will say something like you should give it a 15 minute rest every hour. In reality, people have left their 360s on for more than 14 hours straight just to unlock achievements (just look at the Dead Rising leader boards).

Electronics are sofhisticated materials it is harmful to turn on for hours, because your Xbox might get over heated like cars but the probability iz low coz the makers know thr r ppl who will turn it on all day. But take good care of it dont turn it on for long hours. Sometimes my cd rom cannot read cds when cds get warm because of too much rotation and collision with air and laser.

I do not think that would be a good idea. Two of my friends X-Box caught on fire because they left it on, and three of my friends X-Box 360 caught on fire when they left it on for a long time. I think its okay if you play it for 3 hours, but if your done playing and leave it on, or just leave it on for the heck of it, most likely it will catch on fire from the heat generating in it.

If you are present for the amount of time you have your xbox on weather it be 6 hours or so, it is a good idea to turn it off if you are not using it anymore just for peace of mind that your house will not burn down if it is kept on and you are not there........... hope this helps!

I think so because it will use alot of power and your XBOX 360 will get hot because its running to long and will get ruined or shut down while you' re playing.

I have played mine for over 12 hours straight, it just depends on your system. Some will have issues for no real reason, others will work fine.
