Would these already have been installed? If so, How do I check? Thanks.

If you get a higher SP then the original, it will include everything that the earlier SP's fixed..

If you have SP2, you don't need anything else. It has everything SP1 and 1a had. But if you want to be REALLY sure, click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and the Show updates box at the top. When the list loads, this will show you every update and program on the computer.

I would have gone with SP2. To see what's already installed, you could go through the control panel onto the Add/Remove Programs and it should list what's installed on your pc in alphabetical order.

Don't know how to check but I think it likely that it's already installed.

You could install Belarc Advisor (free). It may well be on its breakdown of what's on your PC.
