this noise occurs even when the laptop has been totally shutdown. It is almost like some sort of alarm. Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to correct it/switch it off?

i have this model, mine is only 8 months old. do you hibernate or close down properly. by the way i have never heard of this before.
