I would say lock them up in old victorian prisons, concrete floors , no heating, barest of basic food and make them work - they wouldn't want to go back then would they!

Child molesters should never be rehabilitated because it just doesn't work. They should be locked up and left to rot. If you hurt a child you no longer have the privilege to live the rest of your life as a normal human. End of story.

One person's definition of "serious" offence could be radically different than another's.Some lawmakers and enforcers are such asholes that I cannot endorse the idea of leaving people to rot.The government prosecutes kids who are smart enough to know they're getting a raw deal from the education system for Christ's sake. Keep in mind that people get wrongfully convicted all the time.For those who commit serial murders and admit it; the death penalty is not a bad idea.

As we all may at some time do something that SOMEONE considers criminal, it would be rather impractical.
Rehabilitaion, when successful, does TWO jobs: it gets rid of a criminal and it gives a useful member to society.
It does not always work but it has to be worth trying, surely

Why just select child molesters? Violent men and drug dealers are every bit as vile and disgusting - lock them all up and give proper sentences. Whole of life for murder, 35 years for drug importation, 25 years armed robbery / GBH and rape. No thought to cost - get the money by hammering down on lazy scumbags who have never worked. Stop their benefits permanently.
It'll never happen.

peodophiles, serial killers rapists etc just kill them via hanging or what ever they used to do but thieves and people in that category i do agree with rehabilitation.
i do believe that people deserve another chance even when they have fucked up. bloody hell you could have beeen sent to jail for not paying a bill and maybe you didnt pay it cos your house and all your money got robbed would you deserve to rot in jail then?? no.
im just talking crap didnt get much kip, lol.
as to your question some people yeah let um rot but not all.

Depends on the crime and the person. I doubt that Bush Jr can ever be rehabilitated.

Deep question. The number of "criminals" has grown to the point that 'locking them up' has become big private enterprise. i dunno. Seems something is wrong. Is it the laws or is it our decaying moral fiber or is it just another money makin' deal?? Good question.
