If she said baby is transverse, this does not mean breech. Breech in when the baby's head is up near your ribs, and his butt or legs are down near your birth canal. Transverse is when the baby is lying sideways, with head on one of your sides, and legs on the other. It is way too early to be talking about c-sections, since the baby changes position quite often until about 34 weeks. But if the baby is still transverse or breech when it is time to deliver, than unless you find a doctor or even better, a midwife before labor who will deliver a breech baby, they will do a c-section. There are still doctors and midwives out there who will deliver a breech baby vaginally!! Thank goodness!!!

If the baby comes into a non-breech position before you go into labor, than you are all right. If it won't go into a different position by th 30 week, than tell your doctor that you would like to have a C section because it is very very very dangerous to have a breech birth as you may know. If you don't want a C section, than have your doctor and assistant push your baby into the right position. If you don't do any of those things to help your breech birth, than you could have a mental-difficansy child.

At 30 weeks my baby was breech and my doctor told me that she would most likely stay that way. I ended up having a c-section at 39 weeks. I was very scared to but it was not bad at all. You are awake the whole time and you can have some family in there if you want. The nurses and doctors are great and talk you through the whole procedure. Don't be afraid, just think about having your little one with you. And a plus is that c-section babies have the roundest head. They don't get all mishaped coming out through the birth canal. Also don't be afraid if when they take your baby out he/she does not cry right away. This is normal. That's actually a good thing, they want to suction all the fluid from their lungs first before they let out a big cry. If you trust your doctor things will go just fine. Good luck and best wishes for you and your little one.

Yes, if baby is still in that position at delivery, chances are it will be c-section delivery. BUT baby has TONS of time to move and swtich positions! My daughter was breech up until 37 weeks and then she flipped to head down and stayed that way. I still ended in a c-section after being induced, but it was for other reasons. So, there is still a LOT of hope for a vaginal delivery! Good Luck!!

At 26 weeks, I wouldn't worry about it. The baby will change positions many times before your delivery. There is a possibility that that is the position your child likes to lie in and it may be easier to have a c-section if the child is still in that position closer to your delivery date.

I wouldnt worry about it. Baby still has time to move. Doc told me the same thing.. and my son was breech up almost til the last minute.. which scared me.. but when time came he had moved to where he should have been :)

Your baby is still moving around a lot, and won't settle into position until around 32 weeks. In the meantime, it might help you to sit in certain positions to encourage the baby to stay head down, ask your doctor for more info at your next appoitment.

it depends, but usually if the child is in breech position a c-section is most likely to occur for the safety of the mother and child.

If you are 26 weeks there is still time for the baby to turn before he/she is ready to come. Also I think the doc can manually turn the baby too w/out doing surgery. However, I highly recommend the epidural in any case!
