You can go to the emergency room to see a physician without making an appointment. But if you do not have health insurance, be prepared to pay a large bill.

In the USA you can use go to the emergency room. They see patients by the severity of the health problem, though, not by how checked in first. If they are busy and you do not have a life threatening problem you may have quite a bit of a wait. This is not to discourage you, just giving you a heads up.

As far as being admitted to the hospital, that can be done only through a doctor's order.

If you do not have health insurance, I would recommend you go to your county hospital, if at all possible.

If you are having a medical emergency, then you just go to the emergency room. If you need to be admitted, they will make that decision. Since you don't mention what you think you need to go to the hospital for--it's hard to tell you how you should proceed. If you do not have a regular doctor, and this is an emergency--go to the ER. If it's not an emergency, then go to a local urgent care office. They can work out a payment plan with you.

Go to the emergency room they cannot refuse treatment and you can apply for free care. The hospitals get reimbursed and have a set amount of money each year which is used specifically for free care...

there usually arent appointments, but if its pretty bad, then you might want to call on the way there and let them know. otherwise if you're not bleeding heavily or in a life or death situation you might be waiting a while.

and if you dont have insurance, you'll have to pay lots of cash most likely. that part sucks

depends on what you've got to do there,
heart attack - not needed
gas problem - needed,
if youre in doubt and u can spare two minutes without the danger of ur heart stopping, i suggest u make a call.
