Ok well whoever brought up the luxary tax card, you are full of it. Do you think the Yankees really care that they have to pay an extra 26 mill? Yes, they are trying to lower their payroll but they can afford the luxary tax if it was 50 mill. I think trying to get rid of Johnson is their way of opening the door for the Rockets return to the bronx. Also, trading Johnson gives them the space and money to go after Barry Zito. I know since the Unit trade rumors are out Mets are panicking trying to get the deal done with Zito before the Yankees enter the ring. Don't be surprised if Zito gets tons of money from the Mets so they can get him before the Yankees begin their bidding. I do hope Rocket comes back, he's a great guy and arguably the best pitcher ever to step on the rubber.

Did you hear about the luxury tax of 26 million that the Yankees are being forced to pay? Because of this, they might even have to trade Randy Johnson, so know they are not going to sign Roger Clemens. They just don't have the money to afford him now. Plus, Roger is not as good as he used to be. His arm is dying and he should retire and not play in 2008.

I would be shocked if Roger WANTS to sign with the Yankees. His family is in Houston and that was very important to him. He didn't want to miss seeing his kids grow up. You might recall he almost retired a few years ago until the Astros allowed him to be basically a part time player and stay home on most of his off days from pitching.
The Yankees would be a great place for him to land, but I can't imagine his kids will want him to do it.
He doesn't need the money or the rings. He has both.

i've got faith Stanley replaced into good whilst he stated they could have bargained him down yet, they did not would desire to make the same mistake as final time whilst Pettitte replaced into stolen away by using Houston. i think of this is large they have been given Pettitte back, I belive he replaced into the lacking link interior the Yankees playoff runs when you consider that he left. he's a large lefty with performs nicely in Yankees Stadium and he's conscious the thank you to win and the thank you to deal with the stress on the biggest point. His playoff resume is what i like, not many each and every person is going to conquer John Smoltz a million-0 in a playoff game and Andy Pettitte did. that's an excellant signing and all people will see how nicely this will pay off for the Yankees. 6 of 9 years pettitte replaced into on the yanks they made the international sequence, 4 of those 9 years they gained. i like those odds. And for Clemens i think of the yankees would be in contact with him interior the offseason yet i've got faith if he does sign it is going to likely be late back like final 365 days. If he does not they nonetheless have youthful Phillip Hughes who Jorge Posada and Jason Giambi have in comparison to a youthful Clemens.

I really hope that hey don't.
If the choice is between Zito and Clemens I would take Zito hands down. Clemens is only going to play from June on if he comes back and thats a big if. Waiting around for him will mean they Yanks will miss out on a 28yr old leftie who could come into his own and flourish at Yankee Stadium.

The Yanks don't want Clemens back. Randy Johnson is going back home to Arizona. Then the Yanks are going after Barry Zito. Why do you think Zito has not signed with the Mets or who ever. He is waiting on the Yanks. If it works out the way Zito hopes he will be in pin stripes and you can all start crying. Believe me this is what's going on.

Well he will not play for the Sox because he knows the Red Sox are to good right now and it would be very disrespectful to his favorite team(Yankees) to add to the team that is already gonna kick the Yankees ****. I also do not see him going back to Houston so ya the skanks will sign him.

The Yankees will not sign Clemens. They are too smart to sign the drama king himself, the self-serving idiot that he is, the mumbler and stumbler in endless interviews about whom?? Roger, of course.

He is gonna come back to Houston. 1- He lives in Houston.
2- His son plays for one of the Astros Minor League teams the Lexington Legends. 3- He gets special privledges in Houston.
4- Have you ever been in minute maid park during november and october the stadium is the astros 10th man it is so freakin loud and hyped! lol. The only reason I could see him go play for the yankees is if andy peditte gives him abt 7 million and promisses to be his b.f.f
