I'm 16 and have been trying to get a job, but I live in a small town where there's not a lot of job opportunities, and I really need some money (I'm saving for a trip). I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to make some extra change? Thanks :)

A dollar saved is a dollar earned. Don't go to the trip.

If you have a car, try to find work outside of your town. Also, don't think that you're above doing something. If the only place in the town that's hiring is the Dairy Queen, set your pride to the side and get a job there.

Good on you for wanting to pay for your own trip.

I'd guess I'd ask anyone and everyone you know that you're in need of odd-jobs for pay and if they have anything you can do.

You might be able to check at your high-school's guidance counsellor as sometimes businesses let them know if they have part-time job openings.

I'd also ask your minister or pastor because they usually know business owners who might be willing to come up with a job to help you out.

Good luck and I hope you have a great time on your trip.

You're wanting to take one of few available jobs in your area so that you can go on a trip? Someone out there needs that job to feed their family.

How 'bout you recognize that, at 16, you don't need to be taking any trips. If you do get a job, save for college.

They say Necessity breeds invention. So what things are you good at? Repairing computers, babysitting, mowing people's yards, or if it snows in your area, shoveling snow off people's sidewalks. Selling cakes, CDs, old toys. Cleaning up people's garages. Delivering newspapers, Carrying people's groceries to the car.

Good luck!

Maybe baby sitting, delivering newspaper or helping a senior person doing some small jobs for them?

Try affiliate marketing on the internet, not just this but there are many more things that you can do online to get money.

I assume that you have tried the standard routes(mowing lawns, shoveling snow, paper routes).

Try selling items for other people on eBay. You may have to start with some low margin items to build up trust with your clients.
