Thats Me,
It really doesn't need to be as difficult as you are making it on yourself. For as many bad things you can point at that happen in the world I can point at good ones so if you are focusing on bad ones there are internal reasons for it. Maybe stress from school, maybe a difficult family life, maybe a loss of a close friendship. Only you really know what is bothering you.
A positive outlook on life does not come from trying to control external events in my life. They come from making myself do the best that I can and control what I do. There are times when it seems overwhelming like in college. You are not competing against the general population of elementary school. Those who gain admission are usually bright people and if you are only doing average work you are still an average bright person. The work is tough but it is only 1 slice of your whole life. What you do now is not an eternity and the journey will move on.
In the mean time, do some things that create a positive influence.
1. Don't procrastinate and schedule time to do your studies.
2. Have regular sleep patterns and a normal time to go to bed.
3. Reduce the noise and lights that shut off production of body chemicals that induce sleep.
4. Take personal time for yourself. You are not a machine and there needs to be a little fun inserted.
5. Avoid drugs and alcohol. You get a temporary improvement in attitude but what goes up must come down and the down side will also worsen your outlook. (Like being in the pool then into the hot tub and then back to the pool.... the pool is much colder to the senses than it was.)
6. Volunteer your time to a worthy cause. If you are synical about what others do to worsen the world then make a positive step to make an improvement in it. It is not the job of others to make life grand for you... it is your job to do what can be done to make it a better place to live and in doing so for yourself.
Whether you are religious or not there is something to be said about the words of a hynm at midnight mass on Christmas. "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with ME"
Good luck with school and take care of your spritual health.

Well, maybe things are hard right now, but they should get better. Look, I got fired from my job a week before chritsmas, I have a lot of money to pay, and I still think that tomorrow shall be a better day. You have two options: 1 is to suffer and get you head full of crap and wrong thoughts. 2nd, is to look at things as a lesson and learn from it. I'm also worry about my future, my studies, a possible job, how to pay my house... and see, I still close my eyes thinking that it can't get any worse, but it shall change for the better. Anyways, if you think negative, only negative things will come, but if you think possitive, then good things will come your way.

Nobody has ever hurt his eyes by looking at the brighter side of life...Follow this mantra cos if you dont then one day you wud be left with just dark circles and a bald head....jokes apart, that's what life is all about...you can neither be living in a fool's paradise nor just thinking about the "negatives" which life has to offer you. Life is all about striking that balance between these two extremes.

You should be thankful that you have the health to study. That you at least have a future that is open to any possible opportunity. That you live in a country that might suck, but at least you have the freedom to say it sucks. You have two hands to type this, and sight to read my response.

The you're stuck! You think of ways to clear your mind before you go to sleep--like read a little bit of a goodbook and drink a cup of de-caffeinated green tea before you go to sleep and relax.
