They are simply the person who takes your blood...For labs and other such things. they are very used to Nervous people. I really think the best thing to do is Turn your head the opposite way and think of something else...I mean really just put your mind somewhere else...It doesn't hurt that much and it will be over fast.

A phlebotomist is a person who is TRAINED well to draw blood for tests. I would suspect that you are in very good hands. I'm sure they are used to nervous patients, you don't have anything to worry about

They are trained to draw blood. If you are really nervous ask them if they have a butterfly needle. It is a smaller needle usually used for pediatrics or people with small veins. Good Luck!

You answered your own question--a phlebotomist is the person who draws the blood--that's their special talent, what they went to school for.

I hate needles too--ask them for a "butterfly" needle, it's smaller and hurts way less.

A phlebotomist is an individual trained to draw blood (venipuncture), either for laboratory tests or for blood donations.

The training and certification vary by country.

That's the term for a person who draws blood. Similar education to a nurse's aide. Most are so good you can't even feel it!

Someone who has received certification/training to draw blood. Beleive it or not this is not required to draw blood. Someone can show you how to do it on the job and it's ok for you to then do it on other people.
