A vintage bottle of champagne or vintage wine if their r that nice. Or a cheese ball platter with assorted crackers around the ball, or a deli-meat platter with cheeses, or call and ask them how u could help ease their load for New Years party if u know them well enough.

for new years eve, an appropriate gift is an inexpensive bottle of champ, to be shared at 12. or if you choose, a gift for the hostess to keep for herself would be a nicer bottle of table wine for her to share at another time with someone special. then again , you could always go the route of packaging up the ingriedients for a favorite hangover cure.
