This is a common product used for automotive body work. It is used to hold body side moulding on. It is much stronger than what most hardware stores have.
I would not use tape. Too little holding power, not reliable enough, too much potential for damage to the surface of the mirror and the wall. The back side of a mirror is a very thin coating. If that is damaged, the mirror cannot be repaired cheaply.

Stanley tools make a good Mirror mounting tape.
Check with Lowes, Home Depot or a Ace Hardware, they should all have this or something similar. If the mirror is very heavy through, I have used the Picture hanging kits. They have a metal Wire that is put across the back of the mirror that them hooks on a Screw in the wall, the screw must be into a Stud to hang a heavy mirror.

Heavy duty NO NAILS would hold up a mirror but you would have to prop it up for 24 hours as it went off. For a really heavy mirror, I would drill the wall. Get a good masonary drill for concrete.

You're best to use Mirror Hangers, get them from a picture framers. I used to be a framer, and trust me, there's NO tape I would trust enough, humidity and temperature changes will affect the adhesive in time, it may take years, but one day... You're guaranteed a nasty surprise.

I think what you are thinking about is called body tape. It is used in the auto industry for attaching molding and other things on vehicles.
You can get it in most auto parts stores.

I used velcro pads to put up a mirror, available @ b&q. They can hold up to 15kg and are easy to remove if you wanted to relocate the mirror.
