People lack self esteem because they allow themsleves to feel this way--not because it put upon them. They have the ability to change it for themsleves--they are the only ones who can--no one can do it for them. All we can do-- is give them the tools.

Ego is a balancing act. Overconfidence vs insecurity. You can be poor and limited in you capabilities and still have more inner security/self worth than those with money and high prestige. It is humility vs overbearing grandiosity. Fear is the greatest source of self depreciation. Fear of life, the weight of the chain - walking gracefully out despite the chain. Their life would be better if they could see that the chain is just a series of links not a huge ominous foreboding given. The links are created and altered by ourselves and the people we interact with. Only obstacle holding us back is ourselves and the heavy links we keep creating. The chain has no lock. We are the first link and can change the extending ones. Faith in a mutually benefiting power, higher than ones self, would eliminate the fear. Attitude shows your true self- esteem. Attitude of faith shines. Just look at the wonder of the cosmos. We are each a star making up the whole - the chain of life.

First of all, just because one graduates from college does not mean automatic high self esteem, you are mistaken in that regard. Having low self esteem is one way people suffer through this life ---all our adult experiences are a choice, which is the good news. If you have low self-esteem you can change that and feel differently about yourself with psychotherapy. If you are overweight you can diet and exercise and lose weight; if you don't like the color of your hair, you can dye it. This is the greatness about this life, we have CHOICES and decisions to make each and every day AND we have free will. We can change anything we wish to change, especially our attitude.

There is nothing more attractive in a man or a woman than displaying the attitude of self love and self worth. Everyone is attracted to these people. God tells us to love other people as we love ourselves. He tells us that we are important and loved by Him. So how could we possibly have a lack of self esteem when we are so precious to Him?
