The age old debate fake tear up your real nails. In reality acrylic nails do not hurt your real nails, they dehydrate them ( if done correctly when removed you should not be able to see any difference in the nail plate. Unfortunately their are very few nail techs who actually do a good job. The acrylic doest hurt your nails the nail tech does. I get so irritated that so many people are allowed to do nails and all they care about is how fast to get someone in their chair and to make money. You rarely ever find some one with integrity and knowledge Too many techs are careless, uneducated and use improper technique. If you ever sit down at a nail techs table and they pull a drill out get up and run away. Never let anyone drill your real nails.
There is a relatively new product on the market that is organic and is awesome its called bio sculpt. Try and find someone who does it. Of course finding someone that does it and does it well that is a different story.

Your nails need to be short. If they are even slightly long, they will cut them down before they glue on the nail tip.

The only thing I've found with getting acrylic is that it ruins your natural nail because they have to rough it up to give the acrylic something to stick to. Don't worry though, it will grow back properly, it just takes time.

Your organic nails could be somewhat short till now getting acrylics placed on. I do acrylic nails and till now I upload my nail suggestion I decrease my organic nails down as short as i can get them.

Well, if you want the fake nails, then there's not a certain length, as long as they have something to glue the nail to. If you just want acrylic on your nails, they at least have to be some where close to the tip of your finger.............GOOD LUCK

your nails should be at the tip of your finger or below (very little) acrylic is bad for you. you should buy fake nails and put an air bubble under then with glue so that they look like acrylic.

actually to get acrylic nails- you have to have short nails... usually they snip off your nails (not super short... but just short enough to wear there's little to none of the white nail). so im pretty sure you're a candidate to get them done. another thing- this might help curb you biting your nails.

getting acrylic or anything put on your nails makes it bad. it's not going to kill you... but it does ruin the nail bed. but it is fun to get your nails done from time to time.

if you don't want to ruin your natural nails- i suggest you try to grow them out alittle and get a nice manicure, get them to put on some polish (maybe even designs on them) --- that way you will not be tempted to bite them.

last time I went to get my nails done they filed mine down so short that I bled! they want your nails to be short so your real nails won't grow out under the acryllic nails! so youre probably safe! and I would tell them I didnt want my nails filed that I thought they were already short enough! but becareful, u said u bit your nails.. I had to go get one of mine re applied because I bit it off.. I got that nasty habbit to.. lol..

as long as your nails arent broken within the nail bed (the indentation in which you nail sits) you should be able to get acrylics.

sweety i bite my nails to and i wanna stop so ive been getting them done, u can have short nails i dont have any really and they did mine, my nails have been growing i love it, fake nails help u to stop biting for one u cant really bite fake nails off and 2 when u start to try u stop cuz u know u paid money to get them done, keeping your nails done aint cheap. ive had mine on for a month and ive noticed myself not trying to bite as much, fake nails ruin ur real ones but get them to stop ur biting habit and then when u wanna get them off use acetone and grow them out the healthy way!!!!!
