The Grim Reaper is not simply Death but an agent or facilitator of dying. Death is actually the nanosecond state between living in one's physical body and not living in it.
To fall in love with the Grim Reaper is essentially to fall in love with 'ultimate protection'. It would be similar to someone, who is very insecure physically, having a dream they married a Victoria's Secret supermodel. The dream is suggesting that one is looking for a relationship where fear is put aside so that one can worry about the relationship itself.
Also, there is no such thing as THE Grim Reaper, just as there is no such a thing as THE French Chef. Anyone qualified to become a chef in France becomes a French Chef. Likewise, anyone who partakes of the responsibilites and requirements of the office of Escort/Death in fact becomes a Grim Reaper. Grim Reaper is a position, not a person. This is not to say your 'Grim Reaper' is inauthentic, but one can fall in love with 'Death' without it being THE 'first' Death. You were a child before you were an adult, your parents were children before they were your parents, and yet you were just as much a child as they were.
The game Grim Fandango perfectly illustrates this concept better than I could.

IT means that you have been seriously hurt and are looking for ways to stop the pain... The grim reaper is a spirit and it can not marry nor can it produce children... There is nothing wrong with you seeking those things. But to look for some mystical creature to share those things with really scream out the pain and the lack of trust that you have in mankind. There is no way that anyone but you can stop the pain. and that can be done by remembering who you are and that no one thing or a multiply of things should be able to destroy your spirit. If you believe in God then ask your God to see you thru these troubled time. But you should never allow anything and I mean anything to bring you to this point again. Be well, be strong, and stay safe.......................

Dont be too worried .They say that death in dreams or a tarot card reading is very similar. It is the symbol of a new beginning or an end to a period of your life.It may be a symbol of a new begining. you just may havent got it quite right yet or worked it out fully. No one can trully read your dreams apart from yourself.Take a good look at your life and see if there is anything that you are doing that maybe dangerous or you may be feeling very insecure about something you or someone around you is doing. Also dreams are supposedly part of our subconscience trying to place all the things that go on during our life or even the things in your dreams are metaphors for something else going on in your life.

It is just your subconscious letting you know that deep down you are worried that things won't work out all right. However, dreams aren't premonitions.
Watch cartoons before going to bed and in no time, the grim reaper will be replaced by Papa Smurf!!

It is dedicated to the angel Azrael who is the angel of death, grim reaper, etc. Her name is Leilah Wendell and I'm sure she would be happy to answer your questions. Let her know a friend sent you.

There's some big change that you are about to go thru which you feel uncertain about, and your subconscious is wanting to reassure you that this change is for the best.

I believe it's your subconscious mind attempting to free yourself from certain aspects of the fear of death.

It means you want to die. I suggest you leap from a cliff to be with your beloved.
Maybe you just read too much Pratchett, I don't know.
