A true music lover puts an effort into seeking real music. How is the music that is popular (what you hear on the crystal clear radio stations and see on television in shows and commercials, etc) not driving you to insanity, considering the repetition, lack of character and talent, and brainwashing in advertisements?

i'm asking about 'they' not me. i do not watch tv or listen to commercial radio. however, being part of society and not a shut-in, i regularly come into contact with the asses in the masses and make sure to be aware of what is out there. i know i have all the control in the world of what i am exposed to, but unfortunately children today are raised by the tv set and not taught to play any sort of instrument. this is all just indicative of the laziness that is too common in our culture, which seems to accept the most expensive media as truth, because they are simply too lazy to think for them selves.

The sad truth is that there are lot's of people with bad taste. They want things that are poppy and catchy that they can hear twice and sing along with in the car. Music that might actually make people think will rarely appeal to the masses. They just want a quick fix. That's why reality TV is more popular than drama and why everyone will go to see A night at the Museum instead of Blood Diamond.

nicely, for my section, The Beatles and Stones are madly puffed up. i'm not declaring i don't love them, basically that they weren't the most ideal bands ever. The Who had fantastic expertise, they were under no circumstances extremely shoved down my throat yet they nonetheless are not the most ideal element ever. u . s . a . continually seems to make certain the worst element and lead them to seem fantastic, making a large number of pre-youngster females and many human beings love them. that's the stuff that's been forced down our throats for too lengthy. And with the help of ways Lizzy, I accept as true with Vicky. there is a large number of expertise lately, basically not some thing that's shown on MTV or performed on pop stations is amazingly proficient in any respect. EDIT- cutting-edge bands with expertise: In Flames The Strokes Rage antagonistic to the gadget device a suitable Circle All that continues to be Apocalyptica Arch Enemy on the Gates between the Buried and Me Black Label Society Black Tide Cavalera Conspiracy Soulfly little ones Of Bodom The Haunted Evile Warbringer The Dillinger get away Plan i extremely ought to easily save going with this.

I totally agree! I've grown tired of hearing the same music over and over again! Advertisements (especially ones for vehicles) are the WORST! That's why I'm glad there's internet radio, satellite radio, I-Pods and CDs I can listen to. I'm glad that these alternatives exist. It's a shame there's not much talent out there any more or originality and the loss of James Brown just proves it even more. He was a legend and an innovator and there aren't many people left like him anymore! May he R.I.P.

Thats why I only listen to my iPod and/or satellite radio and even on the XM I still get bored with the repetition.. I am tired of how bland and re-done everything is these days. Its like everything you hear, you heard before and trust me the older you get the more everything sounds like a remake. Try going underground. listen to your college stations, check out local music acts. Even check out the music from the 60s and 70s (I actually listen to more of my dad's music now than he ever does. LOL) It'll make things better don't worry. :-)

Maybe, in the case of television, it's the colorful imagery of the advertising and music videos that makes the music seem less annoying. But then again, people can always make use of various controls- namely the mute button, volume dial, channel clicker,or simply the "off" switch- before they get driven to insanity.

Why do we watch the mosts popular movies, and the tv shows that our friends watch? Why does most of the population thinks that a computer means a PC with Windows, and if you use anything different your weird? Simple mosts of us are sheep, and want to fit in. Many don't want to use any effort to be different. Baaa

we all feel da same about the music that is played on the radio. they repeat da same song probably every 30 minutes!!! that totally sucks but there is nothing we can do about it. well probably calling da radio stations and ask for more variety would help , if not just do what i do get your own Cd's and listen to what ever you want and stay cool cus honestly i hate listen to da radio.

I agree. I don't understand how people can enjoy music that is repeatedly bombarded into their ears over and over and over.

Thankfully, the internet has made music available to "the rest of us" that we might have never discovered before, simply due to geography. Sites like Garageband have opened up avenues to artists to give them new fans that artists that pre-date the internet didn't have.

Answer...

I don't know why more aren't, but they should be.

And another awful thing is when classic songs are used in such a throw-away fashion.

Like Bedouin SoundClash on a T-Mobile advert.

WHY???

Next thing you know, we'll have the Clash advertising toilet cleaner.
