the last days have been around 10-20°C/50-70°F

Snow is not possible-had freezing rain in November but just for one day.

G'day,

Unfortunately you did not mention where you come from.

Please do not take notice of what the non-Aussie-Melbournians commenting about what the weather suppose to be in Melbourne. It is summer at the moment, but as Melbourne usually does, we can have 4 seasons in one day. We had a day where it was 42C last month, and during Christmas day, it was only 16C, with hail and snow in the ski fields. Go figure!

If you are coming from northern hemisphere, where it is snowing now, do not worry at all. No matter how cold the weather gonna be in Melbourne, there's nothing to worry about... you'll be fine.

If you are coming from from the warm-weathered countries (eg. Indonesia, Mexico, India etc), it is best that you pack a couple of sweaters with you, just in case the weather change. What Melbournians usually do is to 'Layered' the clothing, so you may have 4 layers to defend yourself against colder weather, and taking the layers off once you feel warmer. Don't forget bring your umbrella and hat as well.

Hope this helps. Have a good trip and welcome to Melbourne!!

We went there January of '05. Depending on where you are in Australia it can be burning hot, or nice and cozy. It's summer in Aussie right now. Melbourne was the coolest of all places we stayed, but cool meaning 75-80 degrees the whole time! Sometimes the nights get a little chillier so bring a light sweater. Other than that bring plenty of sunscreen, a bathing suit and shorts!

Well i live here and have done for 20 years. Over Christmas we had 37 degees C one day, and 3 days later there was 2 inches of thick hail stones on the ground, for a lovely white Christmas. One day you'll need shorts and T-shirt and thongs (of the shoe variety, not the underwear variety of thongs), the next you'll need jeans, a jacket and closed shoes. It will never get so cold you need a scarf and beanie though.
At the moment i'm wearing jeans and a t shirt.

It snowed in Melbourne on Christmas day, even though it is summer. Go figure.

Melbourne is known for it's 4 seasons in 1 day, so I would pack clothing that I could layer. Coat, sweater, long sleeve t-shirt, t-shirt, jeans.

Have fun.

it is summer there...so shorts and t-shirts would be great...i am sure it would not be snowing there at this time of year...it is in the southern hemisphere so the weather is just the opposite of the northern hemisphere
