Yeah the photo of Saddam crying prompted me to ask this. Even he never thought he would die like this.

What a good question. I don't know.

I don't think I could do it myself unless it was a case like Saddam......no room for doubt whatsoever. But even in his case, I don't think we've got the right to end his life. Notwithstanding that he ended so many other people's lives.

I suppose when you've got thousands of years of legal precedents etc....you can hide behind that a little.

Like any other professional business in life;teachers teaching , soldiers fainting and dying, doctors operating patients, executioner handing those sen tensed to-die that Judges pronounce their judgment on merit of the case

No it bothers them to pass the death sentence. And it hurts, but the law must be obeyed. And to watch a person die that you sentence digs in the very core of their existence......................
