Yes to both your questions. .001 seconds to your 3rd question.

However, the preferred method of death by minerals before processing is amethyst crystals. I have heard of a few who claim pearl licking is the best, but they are just showoffs in my opinion.

No, raw diamonds are completely safe to lick. However cooked diamonds are highly toxic and will cause an extremely painful death between 3.27 to 7.93 seconds, due to hemorrhaging of the humourous artery.

Why the hell would someone die by licking a diamond?

don't you mean instantaneous. spontaneous would mean sudden death for no apparent reason.
if the diamond was coated in a poison then you might die but few poisons would be instantaneous anyway.

If you cut your tongue in it and are on warfarin, you could bleed to death but it is unlikely.Do you think it is poisonous?...the words old ..wives .. and tale spring to mind.
Carbon is not poisonous...our bodies are made up of carbon compounds...eating charcoal would n't kill you but it might make you sick.
